Lighthouse Baptist Church Bus Ministry

The Lighthouse Bus Ministry has been picking up adults, boys, and girls since its first route on January 9, 1994. The purpose of our Bus Ministry is to provide a way for anyone needing a ride to church so they can hear the Gospel and be part of a growing church family. Riders are picked up at the door and walked to the bus where they get to participate in games, songs, and many other activities making the ride to church an enjoyable one.

Lighthouse Baptist Church currently has two bus routes covering Columbia and surrounding areas. Each route visits the riders on Saturday, seeing how they've been that week and letting them know what time the bus will arrive on Sunday. The love received from our bus workers carries then over into our Sunday School department where teachers continue showing each and every child the same love we're shown by God.

A Little About Us

Today is the end of January, which is our stewardship month. I didn't talk about it as much as I should have, but do you understand that we really don't own anything, but are just stewards? Most people don't even know the concept and hardly anyone really lives like that. The Bible says that the Earth is God's and the fullness thereof, meaning that everything is God's. We are supposed to take are of it for Him, and give Him the profits and rewards of His land. Most of us are like two-year-old where everything is "mine, mine, mine." It is hard enough to even get Christians to tithe. The percentage of Christians that actually tithe is so low, and that is just 10%. Let's make sure we understand God owns all.
